About this website

This site is made to store usefull informations, search tools and getting some informations through the internet. On this website you can use applications that are packaged for Debian and are linked with PHP or somethings others. These search applications are 'dwww', 'man2html'... People can use it here online. The users of 'Debian GNU/Linux' can install these applications on his own computer. You can also use some stuff that i have made in 'PHP' or 'Python' etc, like the 'dict' and 'gnuvd' that i have linked to webpages. And i hope i made some others ones.

You can always ask me to install additional package with documentations. Just need to mail me, see the contact section or webmaster. Keep in mind that i use the 'Debian GNU/Linux' Stable version.

This website, i use it as an little 'Note' tool. I write some things down to remember how to do it. I'm bad in English, but i like it and let me try it. I'm sure there are many write faults :-/ Also with some subject i have not many experiences. But i give it an try. It's been possible that i make some mistakes in my articles. Or the article are not clear enought for you. If you found an error please contact me so that i correct it. You can also make use of comments at the bottom of the articles. About the Server:

The (production) server are an really simple and old computer. It's an 'HP' Pentium 2 233Mhz MMX with 152 MB RAM. It's not an server, it's an simple desktop computer that are no more use for normal people :-/ There is an big one of hard disk, if we can say it. But for that computer it's an big one of 6 GB. The hard disk are going to be die. Like it's an old one, some time he make some strange noise. But like i have not another one that make not noise :-/ If the hard disk are been dead. I replace it with another one that make noise. Yeah, the time are difficult :-/ I'm would like realy happy if you would donate an old hard disk for my P2 that not make noise and that i could trust. It would be verry nice. We never know ;-)

Currently the website are been stored on the production server. The website are developped on another computer, my main computer. Like i not trust the hard disk of my webserver. Some times i copy my data again to the (production) server. At the first place i not modify the data on the production server. I work only on the data on my main computer. I wait that all my interfaces are been done before i stop completely to develop on my main computer and only on that of the (production) server.

What OS and Software are on the server?:

I use 'Debian GNU/Linux', the stable version, code name "Sarge" on this server sinds that version are released. I find it the best 'GNU/Linux' distribution never seen. Currently im intended to continue to use it and i'm not intendet to install another distribution. Also i'm only use the packages that are available for 'Debian GNU/Linux'. On the server i install none of the non-official packages.

For the main website i use 'Apache', but 'Zope', 'Plone' are also installed. I need a bit to work on it here in my 'GNU/Linux'. I try to use a bit of all technology to learn a bit more about it. This wesite make use of an Apache server with 'PHP' and 'MySQL'.

The most pages are coded in PHP and HTML tags that are linked to an database where all the data are stored. The used database system are 'MySQL'.

To write all the PHP files i have make use of my favorietes tools: vim gvim, Quanta. At the first time i had use many time vim and now use some time quanta in the 'source editor'. Like i know good all the HTML tags, it was really not complicate. We firstly begin with somethings simply and then grow litle by little.

For some graphic things i had an need to use Gimp. Like currently i have no many grafics, i have not use it many for this here. Maybe will it come when i make some different themes.

I use also 'Python' to do some scripting tasks. Like it's crossplatform, i use it as an main stuff. It's easy to lean, really powerfull and like i can do all my task with this scripting languange, i continue that good stuff. We can also program grafical user interfaces, there are differents libraries (so differents GUI's). We can also program Object Oriented. Like it's really good stuff, i really like it to use that :-)

There is also an site build with Zope to test his capacities. Look once that thing made if you want. This site make not use of the 'Zope' product. So i really need to mention it here?. I find it an really good product and have use it many times before.

We also use some other stuff, i need to note it down here! I think it's good to promote a bit that good stuff that exist.
